Mount Tesilk in the Tavush region of Armenia is part of the Varag mountain system, east of the village of Gandzakar. With a height of 1372 meters, its summit is visible, especially from Ijevan. At the top of the mountain, there used to be a fortress with cyclopean walls, protecting several hectares of land. The walls, built with large stones, are visible to the north and east, while the western side is protected by cliffs. Villagers used the steep slopes for grazing livestock, and the northern part for residential houses. Two entrances, 2-3 meters wide, have been preserved on the western side. Excavations have revealed 12 clay pitchers and artifacts from the 4th-3rd centuries BCE. The ruins of a 12th-century church and the Tesilk cave, which legend has it served as a hospital for injured soldiers, also attract attention.
