We had long dreamed of visiting Ararat and even possibly reaching the summit. We decided to enter from the Armenian side and spent a long time searching online for a company to help us organize the trip.
Finally, we chose We Hike Armenia.

In Armenia, we visited Etchmiadzin and Zvartnots, climbed Aragats, and took part in two hikes.
Then came our ascent of Ararat and a journey through eastern Turkey.
Vanya organized everything so perfectly—from logistics and interactions with the locals (transport, horses, and amazing food) to ensuring comfort in the challenging conditions of the camps on the slopes of Ararat—that every day felt like a celebration!
And although not all of us reached the summit, the world of Ararat’s slopes, where we spent five days with Vanya, truly captivated us.

I hiked Ararat and Aragats (Turkey and Armenia) with Vanya, and everything was top-notch. We had great conversations about mountains and travel, sharing experiences and stories. A nice bonus was Ivan's thoughtful approach to meals and snacks—no one ever goes hungry on his hikes or climbs!

I was passing through Armenia and wanted to go hiking. Since going alone can be both boring and unsafe, I decided to join We Hike Armenia, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience!
I especially appreciated the organizers' care for every participant. The guide was always there to support and encourage us when needed, and we got to learn about local landmarks along the way. During the hike, they provided lunch boxes for a snack on the trail, and at the end, we enjoyed a delicious dinner in a beautiful setting—something you rarely find in commercial groups. It’s a small detail that made the trip even more enjoyable.

I love hiking and go on walks often, so I wanted to try a trip with some extra activities. I found a hike to Mount Artanish by Lake Sevan that included a sauna, and it immediately caught my attention. I usually don’t enjoy group tours, but this one was fantastic.
Ivan is an experienced hiker, and we had great conversations about Mount Ararat (I’ve never been there, but now I feel inspired to go) and Crimea (I realized how much I miss my homeland and how little I remember about its mountains and landmarks).
We drank tea with barberry and sea buckthorn, and I even managed to take some drone shots. But the highlight of the trip was the sauna—after a long hike, it was incredible to relax and take a dip in the cold waters of Sevan.
Ivan also treated us to a meal—I only wished I still had a teenage appetite! The borscht, apple cake, and beer-based pancakes were absolutely delicious.

I wasn’t able to write a review right away. It’s been two weeks since the hike, but the emotions I experienced still haven’t left me! Of course, the mountains played a big part in this, but without the warm company and support, my mood could have been very different. The organization of the hike was perfect—10/10. Misha and Roma, you guys are amazing! If fate brings me back to Yerevan, I’ll definitely go hiking again. And for sure, I’ll be with We Hike Armenia.
