Mount Teghenis (2851m) is the highest peak of the Tsakhkunyats Mountains, which is located near the new ski resort of Mailer. The trail passes through forests, mountain slopes and alpine meadows, where you can see ancient monasteries and a huge variety of flowers and mountain medicinal herbs, and an active air navigation station is located on the top of the mountain. From the top of Teghenis, there is a beautiful view of the Aparan reservoir, as well as the mountains of Ararat, Aragats, Ara and the peaks of the Geghama range.

Why should I go on this hike

We will see the real vishapakar (dragon stone)
We will visit the Teghenyats Monastery, located on the slopes of the mountain.
We will climb to the summit and have lunch with a view of the surrounding mountains and the Aparan Reservoir.
We will see an operational air navigation station
We will walk along the ridge and climb the summit of the neighboring mountain, Tegenyants.
We will walk through the alpine meadows.
We will enjoy the view of Mount Ararat, the Geghama Range, Mount Aragats, Hatis, and other mountains of Armenia.
At the end of the hike, we will relax in a pool filled with water from a thermal spring.
We will have a delicious dinner at the end of the hike.

Before returning to Yerevan, we will try mineral water from the spring and stop by a bakery where traditional Armenian lavash and gata are made in a tonir.
