Lobuche Peak is one of the most visited summits in Nepal, located in the Khumbu region near the highest mountain in the world — Everest. During our trek, we will visit the base camps of Ama Dablam and Everest, see glaciers, waterfalls, authentic Nepali villages, deep gorges crossed by suspension bridges, and climb Kala Patthar (5,645 m) and Lobuche Peak (6,119 m), from where you can enjoy magnificent views of two eight-thousanders: Everest and Lhotse.

Along the route, we will visit Buddhist monasteries and try traditional food, stay in cozy mountain lodges, spend warm evenings by the stove, explore the Sherpa capital — Namche Bazaar, and much more! The highlight of the trek will be the base camps of Ama Dablam and Everest — the highest mountain on our planet.

During the trek, we’ll get to know traditional Nepali cuisine. Dal bhat, Nepali dumplings (momo), noodles, as well as masala and Tibetan tea will add vibrant flavors to our group’s life on the trail.

Trekking program

Day 1. Group meetup in Kathmandu. City tour

Arrival in Kathmandu. We’ll meet you at the airport and arrange a transfer to the hotel in the Thamel district. On this day, we’ll see the main sights of Nepal’s capital, buy any missing gear, and have dinner at one of the local restaurants.

Any extra items you won’t need on the trek can be left at the hotel.

Day 2. Flight to Lukla. Lukla → Phakding.
Today we’ll take a small plane to Lukla and begin our trek with a scenic walk to the village of Phakding.

Day 3. Phakding → Namche Bazaar
The trail to Namche Bazaar—the Sherpa capital—follows the Dudh Koshi River valley, passing numerous waterfalls and mountain villages within Sagarmatha National Park.

On this day, we’ll see the famous Hillary suspension bridge.

Distance: 10 km
Elevation gain: 750 m
Overnight altitude: 3,450 m
Time on trail: 5–6 hours

Day 3. Phakding → Namche Bazaar

The trail to Namche Bazaar—the Sherpa capital—follows the Dudh Koshi River valley, passing numerous waterfalls and mountain villages within Sagarmatha National Park.

On this day, we’ll see the famous Hillary suspension bridge.

Today we will trek to the village of Phortse Thenga. Along the way, we will stop in Khumjung to visit the local monastery and see the Yeti scalp, as well as visit the Edmund Hillary Memorial and enjoy views of Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, and Everest.

Distance: 15 km
Elevation gain: 300 m
Overnight altitude: 3,600 m

Day 4: Namche Bazaar → Phortse Thenga
Today we will trek to the village of Phortse Thenga. Along the way, we will stop in Khumjung to visit the local monastery and see the Yeti scalp, as well as visit the Edmund Hillary Memorial and enjoy views of Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, and Everest.

Today we will trek to the village of Lobuche, located on the edge of the Khumbu Glacier moraine. From here, Everest Base Camp is very close, and the altitude is strongly felt, so it’s important to rest well today.

Overnight altitude: 4,950 m

Trek duration: 5–7 hours

Day 9: Lobuche → Gorak Shep → Everest Base Camp
The main day of our trek has arrived — today we will trek to the village of Gorak Shep (5,160 m) and visit Everest Base Camp (5,364 m)!
On this day, we will see the base camp of the highest mountain on our planet and take beautiful photos to remember the moment.

In the evening, we will have dinner at the lodge in Gorak Shep and go to bed early to prepare for the climb to Kala Patthar (5,645 m), which we will ascend the next day.

Day 11: Climb Lobuche Peak → Namche Bazaar
Tonight we will climb to the summit of Lobuche Peak. After the ascent, we will rest in Lobuche before continuing our descent back to the familiar town of Namche Bazaar. In the evening, you can relax at the hotel or enjoy live music at one of the local restaurants.

Elevation gain: 1,000 m
Overnight altitude: 3,450 m

Trek duration: 6–7 hours

Day 11: Climb Lobuche Peak → Namche Bazaar
Tonight we will climb to the summit of Lobuche Peak. After the ascent, we will rest in Lobuche before continuing our descent back to the familiar town of Namche Bazaar. In the evening, you can relax at the hotel or enjoy live music at one of the local restaurants.

Distance: 25 km
Elevation gain: 1,000 m
Overnight altitude: 3,450 m

Trek duration: 6–7 hours

Day 12: Namche Bazaar → Lukla
Today we will do the final trek of this journey to Lukla, say goodbye to Sagarmatha National Park, and enjoy a delicious dinner. Those who wish can receive a certificate for successfully completing the trek to Everest Base Camp.

Distance: 17 km

Day 12: Namche Bazaar → Lukla
