Kotayk region is located in the central part of Armenia and is the only region in Armenia that does not border neighboring countries.

In Kotayk, you can find the pagan temple of Garni, the Geghard Monastery, the Symphony of Stones, the Tsaghkadzor ski resort, and numerous mineral and thermal springs.

It is also here, on one of the forested peaks of the Teghenyats Mountain Range, that one of the Cyclopean fortresses from the late Bronze Age was discovered by Armenian archaeologists in 1975. The fortress walls are made of huge boulders, and the height of its walls exceeds 6 meters!

The trail to the fortress is easy and very beautiful, and along the way, we’ll stop for breakfast with hot pancakes and freshly brewed coffee!

At the end of the hike, we will relax in one of the thermal springs and stop by a traditional bakery for fresh and delicious lavash baked in a tandoor oven!
