Gutanasar - a volcanic mountain located in the Kotayk province, near the village of Fantan. Beneath the mountain lies the Surb Astvatsatsin Church. Gutanasar is known as one of the primary sources of obsidian found at archaeological sites throughout Armenia. Nearby settlements include Fantan and Alapars, and this volcano stands as a prominent feature in the volcanic region of the Geghama Mountains.

At the summit of Gutanasar, visitors are treated to breathtaking views of the Geghama Mountains, with slopes adorned in colorful flowers. Additionally, a small lake forms in the spring and summer, adding to the natural beauty of the area.

We will visit the famous frozen black lava of Mount Gutanasar and take Instagram-worthy photos against the backdrop of this natural monument.
We will see beautiful obsidian stones, also known as volcanic glass, which you can take as a souvenir from the hike.
We will see a small mountain lake located in the crater of the volcano.
Let's go to the pretty church of St. Mariam Astvatsatsin, located on the picturesque slopes of the volcano.
We will climb to the summit of Mount Gutanasar, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Yerevan, Mount Ararat, and other peaks of the Armenian Highlands.
Let's take a walk through the mountain meadows, where there are many beautiful spring flowers now.
At one of the resting stops, we will brew delicious coffee.

We provide all participants of our hikes with a packed lunch for lunch on the route.

At the end of the hike, a festive dinner will be waiting for us.
