Gegharot Waterfall is located on the northern slopes of Mount Aragats, at an altitude of around 3,000 meters above sea level, on the Gegharot tributary of the Kasagh River. It lies approximately 12 km northwest of the village of Aragats, in the Aragatsotn Province.

This 17-meter-high waterfall is especially impressive in winter, when its waters completely freeze, transforming into a magnificent ice sculpture. Many compare it to Trchkan Waterfall - another well-known freezing waterfall in Armenia, whose winter beauty is equally captivating.

Gegharot is also part of popular hiking routes leading to the northern and eastern summits of Aragats. The trail begins at the waterfall and passes through the mountain’s crater, offering breathtaking views of surrounding alpine meadows, rocky gorges, and peaks.

Gegharot Waterfall is listed as a natural monument of Armenia and is one of the most picturesque spots for hiking and photo sessions.
