Fioletovo is a very unusual village where the descendants of Molokan Old Believers live, who resettled to these places from the Tambov province more than 200 years ago. Despite several generations of Molokans growing up in Armenia, they have managed to preserve their culture and traditions. Armenians respect the Molokans for their hard work and honesty and speak highly of Molokan sauerkraut, which we will definitely try too!

Why should I go on this hike
- We will take a stroll through the village of Fioletovo, where Russian Old Believers, Molokans, have been living for over 200 years. We will see Russian cottages and birch trees, hear the pleasant Molokan speech, and indulge in nostalgia.
- We will climb to the summit of Mount Kaghnut, from where a fairy-tale view unfolds of the already snow-covered peaks of the Pambarak and Bovakar mountain ranges.
- We will visit the Molokan house-museum and acquaint ourselves with the culture and way of life of the Russian Old Believer community.
- We will learn about the history of the village of Fioletovo and have the opportunity to buy local delicacies: the famous Molokan pickled cabbage, pickles, jams, dumplings...
- We will be treated to a delicious Molokan breakfast - pancakes and pies with jam - and hot tea from the samovar.
- We will stroll along the picturesque trails of Dilijan National Park.
- We will try the delicious mineral water from the spring.
- We will see a medieval monastery, hidden from prying eyes in the forests of Dilijan National Park.
- At the end of the hike, a traditional dinner awaits us with hot soup, appetizers, sweets, coffee, and tea.
