Mount Araler is located in the Kotayk region between the Hrazdan and Kasakh rivers. Its height is 2,614 meters. According to legend, the mountain got its name in honor of the Armenian king Ary the Beautiful, who fought against the Assyrian queen Shamiram and died in battle on the slopes of Mount Ara.
