Mount Gayledzor is located in the Vayots Dzor region near its administrative center, the town of Yeghegnadzor. It is one of the peaks of the Teksar Range, with an elevation of 2762 meters. If you have already been to the Smbataberd fortress, you have definitely seen the northern wall of Gayledzor, which is covered with snow most of the year and is clearly visible from the walls of Smbataberd. In the mountains of the Teksar Range, you can find the medieval fortress of Proshaberd and several monasteries, one of which is the burial place of Garegin Nzhdeh.

We will take a stroll through Yeghegnadzor and learn about the history of the city.
We will learn a lot of interesting information about the Gladzor University, the main center of education in medieval Armenia, which was located in these areas in the 13th-14th centuries and was known as the "second Athens.
Let's visit the Spitakavor Monastery, where Garegin Nzhdeh is buried.
We will climb to the summit of Mount Gayledzor, from where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Smbataberd Fortress and the snow-covered peaks of the Armenian Highlands.
Let's take a walk along the walls of Proshaberd Fortress, where, according to one of the legends, the treasures of the Proshyan princes are hidden.
At one of the stops, we'll brew delicious coffee and have lunch at the summit, enjoying a breathtaking view of Mount Ararat, Mount Aragats, and other mountains.
We will take a stroll through the streets of an Armenian mountain village.
We will enjoy the beauty of the mountain trails of the Teksar Range.
We will take a walk through the mountain gorge where a small mountain river flows, and there is a waterfall.
We provide all participants of our hikes with a packed lunch for dining along the route.
At the end of the hike, a traditional dinner awaits us with hot soup, appetizers, sweets, coffee, and tea.
We will see the snow that is so missed in Yerevan before the New Year :)
