Mount Araler is located in the Kotayk region between the rivers Hrazdan and Kasagh. Its height is 2614 meters. According to legend, the mountain is named after the Armenian king Ara the Beautiful, who fought against the Assyrian queen Semiramis and died in battle on the slopes of Mount Ara. On the southern slope of the mountain, there is the cave monastery Tsaghkevank.
