Hike to the Fortress and Wine Tasting
Smbataberd is an impregnable fortress from the 5th century, surrounded on three sides by steep slopes that descend into a deep gorge where the Artabuynk and Yehghis rivers flow. In this route, the stunning nature and ancient architectural monuments complement each other perfectly, making the journey truly memorable.

- Enchanting nature of Vayots Dzor and views of Mount Gayledzor's peak.
- Cliffs where you can spot mountain goats climbing steep slopes.
- A hike along a picturesque trail with magnificent views.
- Delicious and diverse food along the route.
- Tsakhats Kar Monastery complex, overlooking the Yehghis River.
- Smbataberd Fortress, where you can walk along the fortress walls and towers and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of antiquity.
- A walk through the old streets of Yehghis and the unique Warrior's Church.
- Visiting one of the oldest Jewish cemeteries.
- A mini-hike to a protective dam built during the Soviet era, where you can examine this unusual structure up close and capture beautiful photos.
- The autumnal atmosphere of nature, lots of photography opportunities, and pleasant company.
- A delicious dinner by the mountain river.
- Before returning to Yerevan, we will visit a local winery and sample Armenian wines.
